The Tribe of Mic-O-Say had a stellar summer on the Bartle Scout Reservation in 2015. Over 1,300 new members came into the inner circle, over 780 Braves became Warriors, and over 1,000 tribal members took on additional paint responsibility.
The Tribe now has 78,978 members – an astonishing number when you consider that Chief Lone Bear looked around the council ring in 1929 and saw perhaps two dozen faces.
You may find it interesting that the highest serial number in the Tribe is 79,028 – a higher number than the number of Tribal Members. There are several reasons for that and we’ll talk about those in a future newsletter!!
Of particular interest is that 10 Braves returned to the Reservation after more than 30 years to complete their journey to Warrior.
Our Directing Medicine Man, MM Four Shields, (Lester Ham) reports that the called Warriors of each session helped build an additional level onto SheSheBe Council Ring. You will have to be sure to visit your Reservation next summer to see the results of their work. MM Four Shields gives a shout out, saying “A big thank you to all the Called Warriors and Warrior work crew leaders.”
Suffice it to say there are thousands of potential members of the MOS Alumni Group. So, if you have not signed up yet, please do so. And ask your Tribal friends to join, too. The Alumni Association is good way to re-connect with old friends, and make some new ones!
Make sure to visit the MOS Web site at http://www.hoac-bsa.org/mic-o-say to stay up-to-date with your Tribe!
